My favourite must-have WordPress plugins

WordPress is one of the most popular website platforms for online small businesses. In fact, as this article on Tech Jury’s website states, 14.7% of the world’s Top 100 Websites are WP-based. It’s simple to set up, easy to maintain, and many WordPress plugins can further increase its functionality ( but trad lightly with their use, as installing too many of them can slow down your site!)

So if you’re one of the many small business owners who has a WordPress website, here are some of my favourite WordPress plugins you will want to check out!

My favourite site builder

Elementor is my website builder of choice. It enables you to create a professional-looking website, with minimal fuss. If you’re looking for a better workflow, the ability to customise every part of your theme and take your website design to the next level, check out Elementor and
Elementor Pro!

Favourite WordPress plugin to help cover your security issues

If you have an online website, you need to secure it from hackers and viruses. My favourite WordPress security plugin is Wordfence. It has a free and paid option, so suits all budgets, and gives you all the protection you need. You can find out more about Wordfence
here.

It’s essential that you backup your site

Another essential element of good website maintenance is backups. The problem is, most people forget to do them! That’s why you need
UpdraftPlus. You can automatically set backups to run, plus it makes it easy to restore your site if required.

SEO plugins for your website

If you want your site to rank, you need to work on your SEO. This is something all businesses need to work on – but often don’t understand. Luckily, there are a few favourite WordPress Plugins to choose from! My personal favourites are
Yoast SEO or Rank Math. Again, they offer free and paid options, so go with whatever best suits your budget and needs.

GDPR consent is a must

GDPR consent is something that confuses many online business owners. But if you use a plugin, it can be quickly and easily implemented! Check out
WebToffee GDPR Cookie Consent. It offers you both CCPA and GDPR consent. It’s a one-off fee to get the plugin – but this also entitles you to one year of support.

Provide live support for your visitors

Your website visitors want quick responses and answers to their questions if they’re going to stick around. And Chatra is a great little plugin for this! It enables you to provide live chat, email and social messaging on your site.
Check out the Chatra website, for details of both its free and paid options.

Redirects are easy with this must-have WordPress plugin

No matter how careful you are with your URLs, there’s going to be a time when you need to think about redirects. You may want to update a page link or minimise the risk of someone ending up on a broken page – and that’s where the free
Redirection plugin comes in handy!

Track visitors with ease

Finally, all website owners want to track their visitors. It not only helps ascertain which content is most visited on their site; it also gives you valuable insight into your audience. And my favourite WordPress plugin of choice for this is the free plugin
GA Google Analytics.

WordPress maintenance is an essential part of website maintenance. It can often be overwhelming and scary, though, as you want to protect your site but can’t always set aside the time to update and maintain your WordPress plugins and your site itself. So rather than stress yourself out or risk leaving your site open to hackers, why not opt for my WordPress Maintenance package!
